The only ones I’ve noticed using correct water proof digital cameras are ocean scientists and other such persons although not wholly exploited by botanists, underwater digital cameras do get heavily used in movie making. Making a camera water proof is not an easy thing to carry out. A lot of, so-called waterproof cameras are not completely made for this sort of job.

In reality the only manner you are actually going to start using an under water digital camera is if you buy one of these hand sized dedicated water proof cameras that can be submerged for short intervals.
